The role of the Retirement Plan and Compliance Analyst is to assist the Alteryx Global Benefits Team in the management and implementation of strategic initiatives and projects as well as provide daily support for ongoing administration for the Alteryx 401(k) plan.

The Retirement Plan and Compliance Analyst will be responsible for the annual ACA compliance process, other ad hoc reporting as necessary, and partner with our external administration teams as well as other internal and external partners such as Payroll, HRIS, Legal, Marketing and Finance.

The retirement analyst will be responsible for the daily administration of the company's retirement plan, maintaining data integrity and providing an ongoing support and education to meet the need of our employees. The role will administer the retirement benefits in accordance with plan provisions and assist other HR staff with plan interpretation matters. Participate in the company's retirement plan committee meetings to ensure the retirement programs remain competitive, innovative, compliant and cost effective.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing in-house expertise with strategic focus on ACA compliance and Retirement. Providing general 401(k) plan support to employees, internal HR Business Partners, Recruiting and Onboarding teams.
  • Analyze and resolve data discrepancies on retirement issues, including payroll-related issues, in a timely fashion.
  • Point of contact for all retirement benefit questions including website navigation, contribution inquiries, plan enrollment, distribution, and roll-overs.
  • Responding to participant feedback and resolving escalated employee and vendor issues.
  • Ongoing support related to the documentation of the plan including summary plan description, plan document, annual retirement plan financial statements, and participant statements.
  • Coordinating benefit plan audits and the preparation and submission of Form 5500s, nondiscrimination testing, annual fee disclosures, annual funding notices, and other compliance related matters.
  • Responsible for the annual ACA compliance and state reporting process.
  • Assisting with information gathering for ACA annual filings, eligibility determination, compliance testing, government filings, and other duties related to the health and welfare plan administration.
  • Manage the annual external audit activities for the retirement plan, work with the auditors, record-keeper, actuaries, and trustees to ensure that all information needs are met
  • Vendor management, including issue resolution and assisting with vendor file interface process.
  • Participating in the due diligence and integration of 401(k) and/or retirement plans in mergers and acquisition/divestiture initiatives.
  • Interacting with multiple parties, including outside consultants and Legal, HRIS, Finance, and Payroll functions regarding regulatory filings, actuarial valuations, financial reporting, payroll reporting, participant issue resolution and participant communication.
  • Identification and implementation of process improvements related to the retirement plans
  • Responsible for assisting with administration and operation of all qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, including contribution/funding reconciliation, distributions, benefit file coordination, and data maintenance.
  • Work closely with ERISA counsel, actuary, and consultants to ensure the retirement plan is compliant and strategic objectives are met.
  • Aid and support the preparation of compliance filings, non-discrimination testing, and annual true-up process, required notices, and IRS filings. Serve as point person for audit related employee data requests and research.
  • Investigate and respond to retirement benefit inquiries through the employee case management system.
  • Assisting Global Benefits department with maintenance and tracking of all legally required documentation in accordance with IRS/DOL requirements, including timely distribution to employees.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of current trends in benefits.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Human Resources, Business or Finance
  • Minimum 3-5 years benefit plan, benefits consulting, or financial analysis experience
  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite
  • Knowledge of Workday and ADP payroll systems desirable
  • General understanding of HR practices, laws, and regulations
  • Working knowledge of federal and state legal and tax considerations including ERISA and other regulatory matters
  • Experience with ERISA, ACA, and/or Section 125, as well as experience in employee health benefits
  • Working knowledge of benefit accounting and related reporting requirements
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
  • Effective project management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and navigate complex problems with multiple stakeholders
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate results
  • Must be a self-starter and able to follow through on complex activities
  • A proactive self-starter who follows up on deliverables and makes observations and strategic recommendations
