Overview

Under occasional supervision the Ride Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing rides and equipment as assigned. Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Requires a vocational diploma in mechanical/industrial maintenance supplemented by three to five years of experience in mechanical maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Requires forklift and man lift certifications.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Have a valid California Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
Responsibilities

  • Inspects, maintains and repairs rides and equipment as assigned.
  • Lubricates rides and equipment.
  • Designs and fabricates parts; rebuilds components.
  • Cleans mechanical parts as needed.
  • Responds to work orders and trouble calls in a timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date maintenance records; prepares maintenance reports as required.
  • Reviews technical documents, blueprints, schematics, catalogs, etc., as needed to support ride maintenance, repair and rehabilitation work.
  • Works with other departments on repairs and maintenance projects as appropriate.
  • Offers training and assistance to co-workers as necessary.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of all maintenance problems or areas of concern.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory of supplies, parts and materials.
  • Maintains assigned equipment in a safe and proper working condition; maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Performs all work in accordance with department policies and procedures, regulations, plans and specifications, and standards of quality and safety.
  • Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns and complaints from employees and guests regarding ride safety and maintenance.

Additional Job Functions

  • Operates rides as necessary.
  • May perform minor carpentry, plumbing and electrical work as required.
  • Performs related duties as required.
