Job Description

We are seeking a new RN grad or experienced RN for our Assisted Living and Memory Care home. We offer a great mentor for a recent RN graduate.

We are currently seeking a compassionate, dedicated and fun-loving individual to join our team as a full time RN. As a RN at Elder Homestead, you would be responsible for providing excellent resident care, supporting our seniors in maintaining and improve their day-to-day abilities, while helping foster independence and confidence throughout their golden years.

Full time

Shifts: Week days: 2 pm to 10:30 pm during the week.

Weekends: 8:30 am to 5 pm every other weekend; will work 2nd weekend of pay period

Lead caring team of Home Health Aide & CNAs, to care for the Assisted Living & Memory care residences of this beautiful community. Working with the Director of Nursing and other leaders in the building to make everyday enjoyable through health care, community involvement, team building, in a family like environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Role models positive communication skills with NA/RS, HHA's, TMA's (if applicable), interdisciplinary team, customers, residents and families.
  • Make rounds to residents to observe their physical and psychosocial status.
  • Observes, records, and reports to supervisor regarding residents' conditions, reaction to drugs and treatments and significant events.
  • Participates in resident care planning as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments per MD orders.
  • Follows all shift routines, policy and procedures regarding monitoring of vital signs, weights, administration of medications and treatments.
  • May administer professional services, such as catheterization, tube feedings, suctioning, applying/changing bandages, packs, colostomies and drainage bags. Provide range of motion exercises, care of the dying/expired resident etc.
  • Maintains all required documentation in an accurate and timely manner according to policies and procedures of the facility, including documentation of medications, treatments, restraints, psychotropic medications and skin condition.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

1. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a licensed nurse in the state of practice.
2. Effective communicator with staff, families and outside agencies.
3. Ability to prioritize duties.
4. Customer service oriented with knowledge of successful customer service techniques.
5. Ability to understand residents' charts, doctor's orders, residents' plan of care, medication orders using electronic medical records.
6. Must posses the ability to effectively gather clinical data in regards to resident status and condition.
7. Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
