Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct and document daily site inspections. Monitor and enforce the requirements of the project specific safety plan, Pulice safety manual, applicable federal or state OSHA standards, and any owner specific requirements.

Monitor safety performance of all Pulice and trade contractor personnel. Contact the subcontractor/supervisor responsible for correcting the discrepancy or provide protection. Corrective action of the discrepancy shall be documented. Follow up shall be made for any corrective measures that could not be implemented immediately

Prepare daily written reports of safety observations during inspections and assign the necessary corrective action. Assign completion dates for corrective actions as appropriate.

Take digital pictures as necessary during inspections to support observations. Save pictures to job shared drive.

Has the authority to STOP work in an area to remedy a serious or life-threatening

safety deficiency.

Report incidents, unsafe conditions and any immediate dangerous situations to the Pulice team members.

Participate in pre-construction meetings, communicating requirements and expectations to trade contractors and pre-planning for any high risk activities.

Participate in off-hour or weekend high risk activities as needed.

Provide site-specific safety orientation for all Pulice and trade contractor employees.

Identify training needs for Pulice project team. Provide training, including OSHA 10 hour courses.

Monitor that first aid supplies, emergency equipment, PPE and fire extinguishers are on site and properly maintained.

Monitor that required safety signage and workplace notifications are posted and maintained.

Monitor safety recalls for commonly used construction products or equipment.

Attend safety leadership meetings.

Participate in all site-wide safety meetings.

Participate in all OSHA inspections on the project.

Perform post-accident drug testing and investigation with project management.

Manage region incident log and reports through the safety database site.

Maintains training records for region.

Knowledge and Skills

Minimum 5 years of experience required
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety equipment and practices, and construction procedures and equipment.
Computer skills with Microsoft applications.
Bilingual (Spanish writing/speaking) required.

Degrees, Licenses, Certifications and Experience

High School diploma.
Must have at least 3 years' experience in construction safety and equipment.
OSHA 30 hour training.
CHST preferred (not required)

Work Environment/Equipment

Routine work site presence through all phases of construction, exposed to hazards requiring personal protective equipment. Flexible to work outside normal business hours and provide emergency response as needed.

Physical Requirements

Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch and crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity is required to observe site environment and hazardous conditions.

Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.
