The Position

This position is a member of the Sales & Marketing Department. The Sales Engineer will report to the Director of Global Sales and will be part of a dynamic team advancing the Sales & Strategic Initiatives for our Capital Equipment Industries domestically and internationally.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop good customer working relationships
    • Must be able to effectively identify, communicate and work through customer problems, issues and opportunities
    • Consistently deliver timely follow up with customers, managers and staff making communication a top priority
    • Develop Strategic plans and work with local management to ensure growth
    • Attain and/or maintain desired market position with assigned territory
    • Develop personal relationships with strategic customer personnel
    • Meet with prime customers on a regular basis (Domestic and International)
  • Promote "Bartell" products and services
    • Maintain a good working knowledge of all "Bartell" products and services
    • Make necessary sales/support calls and communication of issues between corporate and customer
    • Develop and perform sales presentations
    • Compile and issue product quotations and proposals
    • Organize and attend trade shows as requested
    • Support aftermarket service and parts sales.
  • Identify individual order opportunities for "Bartell" products and services
    • Develop and execute market strategy
    • Determine customer strategic goals and objectives
    • Develop full understanding of customer requirements
    • Develop and maintain accurate order forecast information
    • Assist in the collection of general marketing information
    • Develop a global account strategy to maximize "Bartell's" opportunities
    • Seek out and advise regarding competitor products and services
  • Convert order opportunities into sales orders
    • Develop and implement action plans for individual order closure
    • Arrange project closure meetings and conduct project negotiations as required
    • Ensure engineering and manufacturing departments are advised and understand order profiles prior to order acceptance
    • Interface with territorial agents and UK office and Qingdao office as required
  • Transfer customer requirements to internal departments
    • Develop complete and accurate equipment specifications per ISO with customer
    • Convey clear and concise specifications requirements via timely "Factory Order (FO)" release meetings
    • Ensure internal schedules of events compliment customer requirements
  • Maintain project interface
    • Coordinate project information between customer and internal departments
    • Stay abreast of project developments and changes to scheduled events
    • Coordinate customer visits to "Bartell" ensuring all relevant associates are timely advised
Job Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
Skills & Relevant Work Experience
  • Engineering background - preferably in manufacturing related industries
  • Commercial awareness and negotiating skills
  • General market knowledge and contact base required
  • Total "Bartell" product awareness
  • Prior experience in extensive traveling including International visits, frequently more than 2 weeks
  • Hands on working knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Microsoft Dynamics (365) experience desired
Travel Requirements: Up to 50%
