SUMMARY

The position will utilize professional selling techniques and product knowledge to market MAHLE Filters/products to all sales channel specifically focused on Filtration growth in North America. This position is expected to effectively manage all aspects of his/her customer base to develop additional new business, while establishing effective, long-term relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts research related to market, product/service, and customers.
  • Identifies customer prospects and initiates contact with targeted accounts.
  • Conducts customer needs assessments and prepares and delivers presentations/proposals.
  • Maintains comprehensive, technical understanding of product/service offering.
  • Develops channel specific sales and pricing strategy.
  • Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters for specific major accounts
  • Generates new business sales by effectively demonstrating the value of product/service to the customer.
  • May conduct negotiations with customer on pricing in accordance with agreed upon targets.
  • Ensures that customer concerns are addressed appropriately and effectively.
  • Undertakes all reasonable initiatives that will increase the customer's satisfaction and retention.
  • Participates in other business related activities, including forecasts, budgets and business plans, monthly meetings, strategy definition and revisions.
  • Works with Product, IT, and Finance where appropriate to develop customer solutions.
  • Works with Marketing to develop appropriate messaging for various sales channel opportunities.
  • Continually looks for ways to enhance revenue generation opportunities and increase operational efficiency of service delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or 10 years of Automotive Aftermarket Industry related experience
  • 7 or more years of experience in sales, strategic planning and business development is required
  • 5 years experience in automotive aftermarket sales is required
  • Knowledge of automotive filtration applications is required
  • Experience and understanding of the aftermarket distribution channels is required
  • Up to 50% travel is required
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to identify and sell win-win scenarios is required
  • Must be a results-oriented, self starter requiring minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated track record of working with customers, peers, and management to accomplish both long and short term goals
  • Proven record of successfully growing a business with expanded customers and markets
  • Experience building and managing customer relationships to seek out and identify new business opportunities
  • Strong time management skills
