Overview
The Sales Representative makes regular sales calls to off premise assigned territory or accounts to cultivate customer relations and ensure satisfaction with service provided. This role will maximize the sale of supplier brands through effective territory planning, selling and communicating that permits achievement of company and supplier objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maximize retail efforts through the execution and implementation of established sales and marketing program.
  • Builds strong relationships with customers and delivery personnel
  • Addresses customer needs in a timely manner
  • Maximize retail execution within assigned accounts through the use and utilization of retail account standards.
  • Increase consumer awareness of brands through proactive shelf management practices to include presentations for additional space, location, flow and organization of products
  • Manage quality of all Company products to ensure that only fresh and damage free product is available for sale and consumption.
  • Utilizes ordering systems effectively to ensure proper inventory and orders thus eliminating out of stock and out of code situations.
  • Solicits the primary placement of permanent point of sale within identified route. Stays abreast of competitive placement of signage.
  • Completes administrative duties in a timely fashion
  • Executes all responsibilities of this position with Company’s policies and guidelines.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to learn and abide by the laws regulating the sale of alcoholic beverages in the state of operation

Physical Demands
  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 45 lbs

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency plus 2 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license and ability to obtain and maintain auto liability insurance in accordance with State laws
  • Maintain automobile insurance in compliance with company policy
  • Ability to add, subtract, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs; proficient at calculating commissions, percentages, and reviewing comparative sales data for analysis
  • Ability to work flexible hours which include early morning, evenings, and/or weekends
  • Ability to travel overnight, as required
  • Ability to participate in business meetings, company initiatives and events upon request

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the beer industry and its major issues, regulatory considerations and the ability to use this information in support of the organization when carrying out one's job function
  • Knowledge of account management practices, tasks, and tools and ability to provide services and support to customers and suppliers
  • Knowledge of marketplace experience, developments and trends related to the industry; ability to use this information in support of organizational goals
  • Knowledge of various types of customers and ability to analyze customer activities, profiles and information
