Typical Day in the Life
A typical day as a Salesforce Platform Manager might include:
Plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT-related activities of the Salesforce Administration team within Information Technology Services (ITS), as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities. Ensure the operation of Salesforce Administration is in alignment with the strategic business objectives of ITS and the Firm. Work closely with the Innovation Team, functional leaders and business units to develop and deploy new business processes. Promote adoption and keeps current on new releases and AppExchange solutions.

  • Serve as a liaison between the technical staff, vendors and the project sponsors.
  • Supervise, plans and evaluates the work of professional, technical and other support staff.
  • Track progress and status of all Salesforce projects and report to Director of Platform Development.
  • Assist with staff hiring, trains and motivates staff; provides staff professional development; and works with staff to correct deficiencies.
  • Provide end user support as necessary.
  • Manage system changes without interruption to staff.
  • Gather requirements from the Innovation Team, functional leaders and business units.
  • Manage the change control process.
  • Manage new releases and efficiently roll out new features.
  • Provide support functions and assists the Training department as needed.
  • Serve as the Salesforce subject matter expert, providing analysis of existing functionality and providing insights to best practices.

Who You Are
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
  • You have 5+ years of Salesforce administration experience
  • Salesforce Administrator certification required with additional Salesforce certifications preferred.
  • Excellent project management skills, self-motivation and a positive attitude.
  • Solid understanding of how a professional services firm operates.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, organization, administration and management.
  • Ability to plan, organize and direct the work of technical staff.
  • Ability to identify and resolve conflicts between technology and business objectives.
  • Ability to see the big picture and think strategically.
  • Ability to perform financial analysis, including cost/benefit, ROI and NPV analysis, and other metrics.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.
