Job Overview:

  • Workflow Management:
    • Contribute to the day-day sample management activities
    • Identify and resolve workflow issues
    • Organize daily meetings to discuss workflow and pending issues as well as to prioritize any critical task
    • Manage pending queues and EOD procedures to ensure that all activities are under control
  • Sample Management Subject Matter Expert:
    • Pro-Actively monitor new and/or existing projects and communicate with management and Project management Teams (including database set-up) on problem areas.
    • Identify pro-actively non-routine issues and provides direction for resolution

  • Sample Management Mentor/Trainer:
    • Provide on the spot training, as needed
    • Provide guidance and best practices for SM services
    • Provide input on SOP's, policies, NSSO's… as needed

  • Workload/Capacity Management: Responsible for planning and forecasting day-to-day and future workload resource demands in Sample Services to maximize production efficiency and to ensure samples are processed in accordance to business expectations.
    • Review daily and future workload requirements to determine daily resource needs
    • Create daily production schedules and communicates assignments among all involved parties.
    • Monitor and track overall work activity and makes adjustments as needed.

  • Performance Metrics: Assist and support management in the development and implementation of global processes and procedures, and performance metrics.
    • Ensure new processes are developed and monitored
    • Track, monitor, and report metrics in the agreed upon timelines

  • Customer management: Ensure internal customers satisfaction & present activities to external clients
    • Ensure all service failures are identified, tracked and resolved in a timely manner.
    • Take preventative action to ensure that the same service failure(s) does not occur again.
    • Monitor, track, manage and ensure resolution of all customer complaints, issues and concerns
    • Participate to Client visits/audits and present the activities of the department

Education/Qualifications:

  • Four (4) year degree (scientific preferred), education can be replaced by experience

Experience:

  • 4 year applicable work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Covance Labcorp Sample Management processes and tools
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Able to work in a team as well as independently
  • Dynamic attitude and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to take up challenges
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to use several software packages i.e. Word, Excel, Access
