Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating various sanitation activities. This position assists in coverage of general housekeeping and plant sanitation. This position also supports daily routine sanitation programs and performs sanitation and housekeeping functions outside of the processing areas.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs.

This position works independently and must be able to follow directions accurately without close supervision. Must demonstrate ability to utilize time productively and efficiently.

Responsibilities of this position are as follows:

  • Reviews and maintains Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Coordinates with the TL of Sanitation on clean up planning and execution.
  • Manages all cleanup paperwork completion.
  • Works with TL of Sanitation to drive continuous improvement within the Sanitation Department.
  • Supports the Sanitation Utilities.
  • Pest/weed control (must be able to spray and treat, as needed, for control and appearance)
  • Sanitation tools/equipment repair (repair of hoses, foamer, squeegees, shovels, and other tools)
  • Proper handling and use of concentrated hazardous chemicals
  • Proper use of a wide variety of hand and power tools
  • Must be able to operate a hyster and different types of tractors
  • Must be trained as Confined Space Entrant and Attendant
  • Must be available to work during plant downtimes and weekends
  • Must have company vehicle use authorization

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write accurate information on simple forms in English. Ability to effectively present or listen to information in one-on-one and small group situations with all other employees of the organization in English

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and compute percentages.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

This position requires you to be on your feet most of the day, and to lift up to 100 lbs. on a daily basis.

QUALIFICATION PERIOD:

Not to exceed 60 shifts worked.
