The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and ensuring proper sanitation throughout the facility as well as recommending improvements in manufacturing methods and sanitation practices to management. The Sanitation Supervisor manages the development, compliance, and overall sanitation at the plant level to ensure food safety and consistent quality of all food products.

Ways you will make a difference

  • Plans, manages, and directs plan sanitation procedures, programs, and regulatory requirements, ensuring all plant equipment is clean and safe for production
  • Adheres to high sanitation, GMP, and safety standards
  • Develops operating policies and procedures
  • Manage the pest control program for the plant
  • Responsible for auditing of all ongoing sanitation programs during Monthly Plant Sanitation Audits for designated areas (Processing, Packing, Warehouse)
  • Coordinates and assists with plant continuous process improvement projects
  • Provides sanitation training and plant wide GMP training for all employees
  • Implements new methodologies on cleaning process
  • Participates and emphasizes Zero Waste management programs
  • Accountable for Food Safety and Quality
  • Supervises a team of up to 20
  • Collaborates with all levels of management at the facility, including Operations Manager, Supervisors, Operators, Engineering Management, Maintenance Team, and more. May interact with Corporate Quality and Food Safety personnel as needed
  • Maintains master sanitation schedule for the plant
  • Coordinating monthly and product changeover clean-up
  • Conducts regular inspects and validations of clean up and allergen cleanings as well as collects environmental samples
  • Interfaces with vendors for cost savings, ordering supplies, arranging special services, and more

Skills that will make you successful

  • Either a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality, Business, Chemistry, or related field and minimum three years experience OR High School Diploma and a GED plus minimum seven years experience
  • Knowledge of USDA and FDA inspection procedures and GMPs
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Experience in Food and Beverage industry or Pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Certification in Pesticide Application preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish/English speaker a plus
