Overview

Steampunk is seeking a Security Engineer to support ongoing cybersecurity identity and access controls assessments and audits. In this role, you will provide SME level expertise supporting the Cybersecurity Risk Assessment Division in the assessment and review of Identity and Access Management (IAM) implementations for our government clients. The SME will perform assessment and verification of critical applications, data, and systems to ensure protection from unauthorized access and correct management of the identities and access rights of people both inside and outside the organization. From single sign-on to privileged access systems, you'll evaluate enterprise class solutions and help stop adversaries in their tracks. Evaluate IAM processes using standard procedures to ensure that IAM duties are executed according to federal cybersecurity standards. Work with Security and Client teams to evaluate documentation and artifacts pertaining to IAM procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Understanding of Identity and Access Management principles and processes.
  • Evaluate complex IAM and technology risks, internal controls which mitigate risks, and related opportunities for internal control improvement.
  • Use a comprehensive understanding of multiple IAM, operational and security technologies, to lead the analysis of IAM architecture and other security projects to proactively identify and document organizational risk to ensure resources are secured and adapted to changing threat landscapes.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for access administration and troubleshooting of Identity and Access Management (IAM) tools, applications and assigned technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience with Azure Active Directory, LDAP, DB, UNIX/Linux, AWS.
  • Communicate with clients and business partners aspects of implementation at the technical and/or functional level, appropriate for the situation.
Qualifications
  • Expert experience in supporting Windows Active Directory, including AD group policy deployment, and security baselines and configuration for securing corporate computers.
  • Extensive knowledge of Web Access Management (WAM) and Enterprise Directory concepts (such as LDAP, Virtual Directory, Meta Directory, and LDIF).
  • Experience with configuring deploying and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) for cloud applications.
  • Expert knowledge of Web Access Management (WAM) and Enterprise Directory concepts (such as LDAP, Virtual Directory, Meta Directory, and LDIF).
  • Expert knowledge in the areas of Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Lync, SQL, and Certification Authority.
  • Expert understanding of Context-based Authentication and Risk-based Authentication solutions, particularly their effective use on mobile and unmanaged devices accessing corporate and cloud applications.
  • Experience writing and executing PowerShell scripts to validate Active Directory and GPO settings.
Certifications:
  • Advanced Microsoft Windows Active Directory experience and certifications.
  • (Optional) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) by (ISC)2 and GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE), or advanced information security training by educational organizations, such as SANS Institute.
