Job Title: -- Senior Accountant

Job Summary: -- This position assists with the day-to-day operations of the corporate accounting group, including assistance with the maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various reconciliations and analyses, and the creation of annual departmental budgets. In addition, this role aids with various tasks associated with the quarter-end and year-end processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --

  • Assist with the maintenance of nine active general ledgers at corporate
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Provide support for the preparation of inter-company statements, working with other corporate departments to ensure all inter-company transactions are properly supported and timely recorded
  • Assist with the management of the accounts payable/ cash disbursement process, including weekly check/ ACH run and annual preparation of 1099's
  • Responsible for assisting with the accounting for fixed assets for the corporate office to ensure compliance with EMCOR policies, including annual fixed asset inventory/ review
  • Assist with month end corporate general ledger closing and the associated upload into EMCOR's consolidation software
  • Manage the interface of EMCOR's Treasury application and accounting system
  • Prepare account reconciliations and analyses for key financial statement accounts
  • Assist with the corporate budgeting/ forecasting process
  • System administrator for Concur application, responsible for reviewing all corporate expenses reports and ensuring timely processing of reimbursement to employees
  • Provide assistance to subsidiaries with the CoStar lease accounting application
  • Assist in other areas within the department where needed, on an ad hoc basis
Qualifications: --
  • B.S./B.A. in Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounting or Finance required
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and present financial data.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel required
  • Experience with Accounting Systems, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets

Compensation Range: $96,000 - $120,000

Other Compensation: this position is bonus eligible
