Job Summary

The position offers a great opportunity for an experienced accountant to further develop and grow. In this role you will gain exposure to a variety of corporate accounting and finance areas. The position will report to the Director of Accounting & Controls. Our team is responsible for the accounting and budgeting for all corporate departments. The Sr. Accountant's primary role will be to lead accounting and reporting for the corporate departments with the highest spend, inclusive of IT and Marketing, manage project accounting and reporting, provide support to the lease accounting and reporting team and support the team in completion of daily accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and able to both manage and lead independently, while maintaining a focus on business partnership and process improvement. This is a visible and high growth potential role with future opportunity for progression. We are an expanding team and growing business. Prior experience is a plus; we are willing to train the right Accounting / Finance professional.

Job Responsibilities

  • Departmental Accounting: Serve as the primary finance and accounting owner for the corporate IT and Marketing departments, including day to day transactions, monthly variance reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Month-end Close: Assist with the monthly close process by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of accounting entries and reconciliations.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly financial variance reporting for various corporate departments.
  • Process improvement: Recommend and lead improvements to current processes.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain a great working relationship and serve as a trusted business partner with our team and the teams in the divisions and departments.
  • Corporate Accounting: Assist with the weekly flash and monthly close processes. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, ensure accuracy regarding invoice coding, maintain the prepaid schedule, track and monitor capex, POs and p-card activity and accruals.
  • Ad hoc: Support ad hoc financial information requests, analyses, and other special projects, as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline, CPA or MBA preferred
  • 3+ years related work experience in Accounting or Finance (public or private)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • ERP, lease administration software, and general ledger accounting experience is a plus
  • Solid values and high standards of ethics, integrity, and trust

  • Ability and willingness to get involved in detailed financial tasks
  • Ability to be flexible and facilitate change
  • Ability to meet deadlines & a self-starter
