ECS is seeking a Senior Architect to work in our Washington, DC office.

Job Description:
Support the FSM Program in designing, developing, and implementing security controls to preserve the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information systems deployed on AWS cloud:

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in successfully integrating security configuration procedures and tools. This includes evaluating requirements, selecting/implementing security controls, reviewing installation procedures, conducting verification and validation of test procedures and script changes, tailoring and configuring security controls for specific product using automation, security assessment plan preparation, test procedure preparation, test execution and reporting, performing security vulnerability assessments or recommendation of controls.
  • Supporting ISSMs in initiating, tracking, and managing the creation, opening, and closure of weaknesses via Department prescribed Plan of Action & Milestone (POAM) processes and procedures
  • Supporting Assessment and Authorization activities related to cybersecurity technologies and contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific FSM projects.
  • Enforcing policies and guidelines as outlined within NIST SP 800-53, DHS 4300A, DHS 4300B Sensitive Systems Policy
  • Providing guidance in the implementation of system specific features and security controls to ensure effective compliance with federal requirements
  • Promoting a healthy security posture for the implementation team and key stakeholders

Required Skills:
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field with minimum of 5 years system security experience
  • Knowledge of remediation methods using various cybersecurity controls for systems and networks
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience with or knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and the DOD Information Assurance Certification & Accreditation Process (DIACAP) methods
  • Experience with automation using Python or other tools
  • Familiarity with high-performance/cloud computing using containerization and knowledge of DBMS and SQL (i.e. Oracle Database, PostgreSQL)
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity policies and concepts
  • Understanding of encryption concepts. Ability to communicate secure coding concepts and identify potential software defects/flaws
  • Risk Management Framework planning and implementation working experience
  • Ability to convert functional cybersecurity requirements into system requirements.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously; coordinating resources and ensuring scheduled goals are met.
  • Ability to make decisions and resolve problems effectively - Seek out information and data to evaluate, prioritize and formulate best solution or practice.
  • Must be able to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team, share workloads, and deal with sudden shifts in project priorities
  • Information security assessments and familiarity with NIST RMF or Assessment and Authorization (A&A) standards to mitigate security risks
