Job Description
We are a diverse team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Client's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.
In this role, you will lead systems engineering activities for one of Client's rocket engine control systems to drive the design, development and verification of the system and its components (avionics hardware, software, harnesses, sensors and actuators). These systems engineering activities will support the decomposition of mission, performance and safety requirements to the components of the engine control system in a well-organized specification tree with a comprehensive validation and verification strategy and plan. A key focus will be defining and managing systems engineering processes that will be used on a particular program in addition to establishing entry and exit criteria for gated reviews such as System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR) and Test Readiness Review (TRR).
As a technical leader, you will also contribute to process improvements and standard methodologies at Client and work closely with key engine and vehicle customers.
We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
Qualifications:
B.S. degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
8+ years of Systems Engineering experience for electronic hardware and/or software systems within the Aerospace industry or another similar safety critical industry (level commensurate on experience)
Knowledge and experience of systems engineering practices per ARP4754A or similar standard
Strong written and verbal communication skills; strength in teaming and collaboration in a diverse work environment, self-starter
Experience with DOORS classic, DOORS Next Gen (DNG) or other system requirement software equivalent
Experience leading complex verification and validation activities for systems
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
