Job Description

As the Senior Chemist, you will performing routine operation, maintenance, calibration, qualification and trouble-shooting laboratory equipment and instruments for high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).

  • This includes instrument start up, daily calibration checks, and root cause investigations in the event of quality failures
  • Developing, reviewing, submitting and filing reports on client sample tests, correlation tests, calibration, validation and other projects
  • Developing and validating analytical methods, Standard Operating Procedures ("SOPs") and other operating, safety and quality documents to address current changes in government regulations and client requests
  • Serving as a team lead which includes providing technical training, advice and support to the junior members as required
  • Investigating, responding to and following up on client inquiries and complaints as needed
  • Providing input and maintaining technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions and operations
  • Completing laboratory tasks and assignments within tight deadlines
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Must have a Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field plus two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience must include two (2) years of experience with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
  • Two (2) years of experience with method validation and developing; and one (1) year of experience serving as a team lead which includes providing technical training,
  • advice and support to the junior members of a team. Must also in depth knowledge of test methodologies associated with regulatory requirements and standards.
