The Senior Specialist, Internal Communications, is responsible for developing and executing communications strategies and plans that support projects, initiatives and the overall strategy of ABS Group.

What You Will Do:

  • Serves as a trusted communications advisor to leaders in the organization to facilitate internal and external reputation within assigned business units, sectors or departments.
  • Plans, researches, develops and delivers key strategic messages for corporate support functions, such as Sales, HSQE, Human Resources, Finance, Legal and Compliance.
  • Assists the Manager, Communications in the development of short- and long-term communications strategies and content calendar.
  • Develops targeted messages and creates presentations, talking points, FAQs and other supporting collateral to support change management for new initiatives.
  • Liaises with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to coordinate content and generate success stories and thought leadership for strategic initiatives.
  • Supports and develops content for intranet, biweekly ABS (Bureau) e-newsletter and ABD Group quarterly e-newsletter as required.
  • Leverages feedback and analytics to recommend improvements in communications channels and approach.
  • Assists Manager, Communications with crisis management.
What You Will Need:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in corporate or business internal and external communications experience, leading support for projects and initiatives and advising leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Experience implementing and measuring messaging/programs on a global basis.
  • Experience creating and executing strategic internal and external communication plans and advising leaders.
  • Strong writing and editing experience and knowledge of Associated Press style.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and project management skills.
  • Proven track record of nurturing strong relationships with manager, peers, team, key stakeholders and customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A sound working knowledge of all elements within MS Office is essential. Experience with graphics and HTML programs is beneficial.
  • Strong social media knowledge for content creation, strategy and ongoing adabtability.
  • Ability to write, edit and produce content for internal and external communications.
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills.
  • Ability to motivate others, and to work effectively with all levels of management.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate in a larger framework.
  • Must be able to assume a high level of individual responsibility.
  • Professional creativity and flexibility are essential.
  • Ability to obtain knowledge of the ABS Group Quality and Environmental Management System.
It Would Be Nice If You Have:
  • Desktop publishing, graphics and video production capabilities preferred, but not required.
  • Marine, Oil and Gas, Life Sciences, Cyber, Government or Energy industry experience helpful, but not required.
Reporting Relationships:

Reports directly to Manager, Communications, unless otherwise directed
