The Senior Corporate Accounting Officer will assist with all regulatory reporting filings as well as various other compliance related reporting requirements. This position will be an important team member within Finance, specifically as a member of the Company's Regulatory Reporting team and will participate in various aspects of the production, review and filing of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports. The position will operate in a dynamic, fast-paced, ever-evolving environment and will interact with many Associates and Senior Leaders throughout the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Key team member that assists with critical regulatory filing preparation and review for the Bank's regulators including the OCC and Federal Reserve, including the quarterly Call Report, the weekly 2900, and various other monthly and daily filings.
  • Coordinate data collection and quarterly business results with various lines of business, with the ability to identify and clearly communicate issues.
  • Maintain access to various databases & reports with the ability to apply up-to-date product and industry knowledge to identify and implement updates.
  • Consolidate, review, and analyze quarterly financial data for accuracy and completeness, perform quarter-over-quarter analysis.
  • Adhere to various control procedures and edit checks, with ability to reconcile across other published financial reports and filings (e.g. Form 10-Q, Annual Report/Form 10-K, FR Y-9)
  • Maintain key partnerships with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with monitoring various key bank metrics including risk-based capital and QTL.
  • Ability to present regulatory reporting topics and information to various stakeholders and senior leaders throughout the bank.
  • Assist the team with identifying opportunities for departmental efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures and maintain up-to-date knowledge of US GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the research and documentation of new regulatory guidance to ensure timely identification and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have the ability to successfully work under the pressure of strict deadlines.
  • Must have experience in the preparation of financial statements for a public company.
  • Must have knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley, US GAAP regulation and statutory regulations.
  • Must have experience leveraging technology to assist with reporting enhancements.
  • Must have experience assisting Internal and External auditors with reviews and audits of regulatory filings.
  • Must possess a willingness to learn new topics in an evolving business environment.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to research and clearly document and articulate accounting/reporting issues.
  • Must have strong oral and written communications skills as well as strong listening abilities and presentation skills.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA or MBA is preferred.
  • Must have at least 5-7 years of accounting experience with exposure to financial statement preparation and regulatory reporting. Banking industry experience preferred, and prior Call Report preparation experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have strong accounting skills and knowledge.
  • Must have advanced proficiency in MS Excel
