Senior Cost Accountant

The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for standard cost maintenance, recording and calculating budget of cost of goods sold, inventory reporting and reconciliation, cost analysis and parts pricing.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Prepare/review monthly journal entries: cost of goods sold, scrap, obsolescence, warranty, etc.
  • Review bill of material (BOM) for accuracy with ability to focus on material variances
  • Prepare/review post close cost accounting reporting: Scrap/obsolescence, warranty, etc.
  • Cost new product development (NPD) products during development with full summarization and lead discussion
  • Calculate standard direct labor rates semi-annually
  • Monitor cycle count activity, audit counts and summarize results
  • Perform monthly standard cost roll activity and review
  • Prepare annual cost of goods sold budget
  • Serve as primary point of contact in one building for annual physical inventory (preparation, physical count and reconciliation activity)
  • Calculate sell price for parts pricing while troubleshooting and maintaining our system
  • Serve as a mentor for other team members
  • Consistently models the Company Values and Expected Behaviors
  • Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree - Accounting
  • 5+ years of relevant experience - manufacturing industry
  • Intermediate analytical skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Intermediate ERP system knowledge or related experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments: (Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively with team members to accomplish department objectives
  • Demonstrate a customer service mind-set
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Preferred:
  • CMA
  • Access/SQL writing
