A day in the life.

As a Senior Data Platform Engineer on the MMA IT Data and Analytics Team, we will count on you to design, monitor, build, and automate data pipelines. As an Azure Subject Matter expert, you will provide guidance and insights, while working closely with Software Engineering teams to leverage shared resources and create efficiencies. In this role, you will:

  • Implement innovative technologies to engineer Platform services, container orchestration technologies, and CI/CD automation.
  • Implement data engineering, ingestion, and curation functions on Azure cloud using Azure native programming
  • Participate in provisioning data storage services, transforming data and implementing security requirements
  • Operationalize large-scale enterprise data solutions and applications using Azure data and analytics services
  • Leverage tools provided by Tech (e.g.,infrastructure as code, cloudOps, DevOps, logging / alerting) in delivery ofsolutions
  • Integrate, transform, and consolidate data from both structured and unstructured systems into a structure that is suitable for building analytics solutions
  • Creates Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts (Bash, JSON, YAML, Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Leverage DevOps techniques and practices like Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Test Automation, Build Automation and Test-Driven Development to enable rapid deployment of end user capabilities

We'd love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:
  • 10+ years of Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI public cloud; development and architecture as well as experience with REST APIs to support integration of infrastructure, cloud and platform as a service technology.
  • 3+ years of Experience with specialized data architecture (e.g., data lake, lake house, data fabric, data mesh, optimizing physical layout for access patterns)
  • 5+ years of experience in data software development building data platforms for batch or streaming ingestion, processing the data for analytics, and storing the data in various stages
  • 2+ years of hands-on development experience with event based streaming technologies (Apache Kafka / Azure Event Hub or similar)
  • Strong collaborator with experience wearing multiple hats on smaller teams and cross training other team members
  • Tools to secure the data within your purview (e.g., Redgate Catalogue, Masking and Cloning)
  • Experience implementing and maintaining data platform core services (data lake, data integration, data warehouse) and configuring and integrating infrastructure and PAAS (e.g., Azure Data factory, Informatica cloud services, Databricks, Data gateway and Qlik Sense, Power BI)
  • Hands-on experience working with Azures PaaS offerings such as Purview, Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Data Factory as well as monitoring of the environments
  • SQL Database, Stream Analytics, Storage Services, ADLS and Serverless Architecture Experience
  • Experience building and deploying with Linux, UNIX and Windows technologies

These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:
  • A commitment to best practices and striving for the elimination of manual operational processes to promote a DevOps oriented software delivery mode.
  • Experience with Azure/ public cloud; development and/or architecture.
  • Experience with REST APIs to support integration of infrastructure, cloud, and platform as a service technology.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $95,130-$166,425. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
