Purpose & Scope:



The Head of Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) is a key member of the HR Talent Leadership team. For both Engagement and D&I, this position is responsible for creating or facilitating and implementing comprehensive strategies into operational and actionable objectives and developing accompanying performance metrics into all business and people processes. This leader is responsible for collaborating across the organization to develop a shared vision, mission and multi-year strategy. This leader interacts with a broad audience of stakeholders to influence program design, implementation, and improvements from an Engagement and D&I perspective. This role will increase the company's reputation by having a positive impact on our employees, stakeholders, communities and the environment that is well aligned to its business strategy, creates significant business impact, and results in the attraction, retention and effective performance of all employees



Essential Job Responsibilities:


* Develop and implement a sustainable Diversity and Inclusion strategy that is embedded in the day-to-day operations of the organization that reflects and enhances our culture and work environment
* Collaborate with HR colleagues and business leaders to embed Diversity and Inclusion into all talent management (identification and development of diverse talent), succession planning, leadership/ development people development, and recruiting to ensure the D&I strategies and metrics deliver against the organization's goals
* Serve as the executive sponsor primarily responsible for the design, implementation, result reporting, follow-up and evaluation of the global employee engagement surveys
* Create a comprehensive, global sustainable strategy for employee engagement that encompases the biennial survey
* Develop, lead, influence and leverage organizational resources across all businesses and regions, to inform, align and support the Diversity and Inclusion strategy and ensure objectives are achieved
* Manage, develop and enhance employee impact group (EIGs) and D&I Governance Council to lead and execute D&I strategies and objectives
* Collaborate with and coach key executives to assist in shaping their roles as D&I champions and advocates both internally and externally
* Manage the organization's social issues management model to react to trends in external environment
* Collaborate with key stakeholders in the development of strategies such as the increase in hiring, promotion, and retention of diverse talent, increase of communication, CSR activities and development of a Supplier Diversity Program
* Serve as the corporate Diversity and Inclusion ambassador to national, regional and local media audiences, represent the company at industry and community related events
* Complete annual EEO/AAP requirements and share as appropriate with the business
* Develop and manage Diversity and Inclusion budget
* Supervise Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion staff and contractors to assure high quality deliverables while controlling costs





Quantitative Dimensions:

This position will operate globally. The position will manage a team of two and manage a budget in excess of $400,000 US. The budget for the biennial global employee engagement survey is an additional $350,000 US itself.



Organizational Context:

This role will report to the VP, Head HR Talent and be a key member of the HR Talent Leadership team.

Qualifications:

Required


* Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resources, business, or related field
* Minimum of 12 years of professional experience, which includes at least 5 years of leading and implementing engagement, diversity and inclusion programs in complex organizations
* Proven ability to establish and lead engagement, diversity and inclusion efforts in a complex business environment
* Collaborative relationship builder with strong influencing skills across all organizational levels
* Strong organizational development and talent management skill set (group process, organizational design, team dynamics, leadership development, coaching, etc.)
* High level of cultural competence and cultural agility
* Excellent public speaking ability. Also strong written and presentation skills
* A highly energetic, proactive change leader who is equally comfortable in the Board room and facilitating employee discussions
* Strong business insight; understanding of key global business trends and environment is required
* Excellent executive presentation skills, ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely is required
* Demonstrates strong leadership courage, willing and able to respectfully question and/or challenge others to think through problems, improvement opportunities, solutions, and plans is required
* Operates as a global leader with understanding and appreciation for regional and cultural differences is required
* Skilled in building excitement and influencing behaviors at all levels which support creating a more inclusive work environment
* Demonstrated political and operational agility
