Responsible for leading strategic and key commercial and performance improvement initiatives prioritized by the business segment leader, as well as monitoring and helping to ensure completion of cross-functional activities owned by the one-down leaders of the business.

Essential Duties:

  • Strategy leadership
    • Assist the business segment leader on development, execution, and communication of new strategies for the Unified Communications as a Service and Contact Center as a Service business areas
    • Drive essential research activities, gather competitive intelligence and develop potential courses of action
  • Own key commercial projects designated by the business segment leader
    • Provide robust research, analyses, and "people" skills in order to identify problems and opportunities
    • Assess feasibility and opportunity size for key commercial programs, engage appropriate stakeholders, and develop tactics and workplans for execution
    • Lead execution for some projects, and "monitor" execution for those that require more complex project management and may be handed off to a project manager or other professional
  • Own performance improvement and other special projects
    • Examples can include supporting M&A integration, improving and standardizing sales collateral as our business evolves, supporting execution of campaigns (through marketing) that are highly strategic, etc.
  • Recommend new areas of prioritization and opportunity
    • Identify areas of opportunity not already on the business segment leader's radar and make recommendations on whether to add to our list of key commercial programs (e.g. have a "nose for value")
  • Monitor and ensure completion
    • Manage Leader "Project Board" to ensure completion of activities owned by the "one-down" leaders in the business
    • Where roadblocks exist, escalate as needed to the business segment leader to ensure speedy resolution

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business, information technology, or a related field

Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in a sales operations, business operations, or in strategic consulting roles
  • 5+ years managing a team focused on analysis or operations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Results-oriented individual able to drive priorities and own outcomes
  • Ability to coordinate and lead teams on initiatives, even when no formal reporting relationship exists
  • Strong research and analysis skills - comfortable managing and modelling data in Excel
  • Executive presence - Strong verbal and written communication skills (PowerPoint, e-mail, etc.)
  • Strong organization and project management skills - ability to lead initiatives end-to-end
  • Ability to clear roadblocks, "fill in the blanks", and self-resolve issues where needed
