Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior EH&S Technician in Ringwood, IL.

Job Summary:

This role will support both Ringwood and Elk Grove Village sites. Will have safety and environmental responsibilities for RGW and EGV.

This role shares responsibility for the implementation of the EH&S management system, in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate. Provides hands-on environmental, industrial hygiene (IH), and health and safety (H&S) activities for a specific plant. Requires advanced skills and expertise in a range of processes, procedures, and systems, and/or specialized technical expertise within an analytical/scientific method or operational process to perform a broad range of complex work assignments. May act as a working team lead, providing subject matter guidance and coordinating work of others.

Responsibilities / Duties

• Implements detailed, task level, day to day EH&S programs, utilizing the EH&S work process, standards and procedures.

• Ensures that the Environmental, IH, and Health and Safety aspects of operating discipline are adequate and applied to achieve EH&S performance goals. In most cases, would perform the role of section owner for the EH&S sections of operating discipline.

• Acts as the Plant resource for related EH&S information on procedures, guidelines and standards.

• Serves as plant contact for Environmental, IH, and Health and Safety issues.

• Coaches teams and individuals on EH&S related tasks and activities.

• Assists in developing and achieving area or plant EH&S goals.

• Ensures compliance tasks are completed.

• Performs/coordinates certain Environmental, and IH monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant.

Required Qualification:

• Previous experience in an operations role with emphasis on EH&S projects and/or initiatives.

• Ability to work overtime as needed.

• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Physical Requirements:
Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

• Lift, push, and pulls.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
• Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.
• Work in tight and closed in spaces.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator, earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent and one of the following are required:

• Associate's Degree or higher. In lieu of a degree Dow will consider those with 4 or more years of relevant military experience.
• 5 or more years of EH&S experience.
