SUMMARY
The Senior Infectious Disease Modeler/Epidemiologist will support the CDC Division of Viral Hepatitis with longitudinal multivariate statistical modeling, analysis of large datasets, and presentations / publications of findings. The epidemiologist will be expected to both lead and participate in the preparation of papers and publications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Conducts a range of longitudinal models including cox-proportional hazards models and models that violate assumptions of the cox-proportional hazards models using viral hepatitis testing and treatment data from large claims-based data.
Summarizes model results and findings and gives presentations of those results and findings to various members of the division.
Participates and provides contributions to peer-reviewed publications; contractor will be offered the opportunity to lead papers as well as support and coauthor other publications.
Using large claims-based health care datasets, explores various machine learning and artificial intelligence modeling approaches to the analysis of viral hepatitis testing and treatment data.
Participates in one domestic site visit to provide support and technical assistance for data collection and reporting activities.
Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for statistics, multivariate statistical analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance with all applicable rules (federal, state, local, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Prime Contract requirements, etc.) for themselves and the company as a whole. Fosters an environment in which they will reportanyviolations or reasonably suspected violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues that arise during the performance of a government contract.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in Public Health. Must have five (5) or more years' Epidemiology experience, preferably supporting a federal HHS agency such as the CDC.
Must have multivariate statistical analysis expertise, including demonstrated expertise with the Cox Proportional Hazards Model.
Must have strong consultative abilities and excellent oral and written communication skills.
