The Philadelphia, PA site manufactures a life-saving influenza vaccine. Our product is aseptically filled into sprayers for nasal administration. The site consists of two geographic locations - a facility at Red Lion Road in NE Philadelphia has about 140 full-time employees and the Bensalem storage and distribution facility has about 5 employees. The facilities are about 8 miles apart and both are situated close to I-95, the city of Philadelphia, and Philadelphia International Airport. Our product is sold in the US, UK, and other countries. Operations continue year-round, with the production season being in the summer (typically May-August). Our site is highly collaborative where we show our Philly pride in all we do. We work closely together, always striving to be better every day. The Senior Facilitator, Maintenance & Reliabilitymanages a number of services across several teams within a single area of the Facilities Management function. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, Oversees and manages departmental activities in regards to both planned and unplanned maintenance, cleaning, MRO and Reliability Engineering.

What you'll do:

  • Leads the Facilities Management, MRO, and Reliability team for (2) PA facilities.
  • Knowledge and experience with Facilities and Utilities.
  • Develops and implements operational plans to achieve Facilities & Engineering strategy objectives.
  • Ensures Facilities projects, PM's and CM's are implemented in line with identified AstraZeneca policies, procedures, and standards, to achieve agreed scope and cost.
  • Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and all other work standards.
  • Manages the relationship with key clients and portfolio managers, within own business area and across site.
  • Investigates current and future facility's needs, communicating them appropriately and translating them into specific requirements.
  • Manages the coordination of resources within areas of responsibility within Facilities & Engineering.
  • Leads individuals within Facilities & Engineering to deliver the highest levels of performance.
  • Provides clear leadership, direction and development opportunities to team.
  • Identifies and leads improvement initiatives and project teams in support of longer term business strategy.
  • Develops and cultivates technical expertise and knowledge within project team or broader Facilities Management function by sharing best practices and other knowledge across functions and project teams.

Essential for the role:
  • Bachelor's degree required (Engineering, Physical Sciences, Business or a related discipline).
  • Minimum of ten years applicable Engineering project management experience.
  • Project management, change management and people management skills
  • Minimum of seven years industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Extremely detail oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be assertive, but also able to work in a collaborative environment with a proven ability to influence senior management.
  • Must be able to influence inter-departmental project activities with tact and persuasion.
  • Must be able to support multiple project team activities, understanding the links and conflicts between teams, and recommending appropriate actions to improve project integration.
