Reporting to the Director of Planning, Analysis and Reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for managing the KPI dashboards, preparation and analysis of current results, budget and forecast , and financial modeling for presentation to senior management. Successful candidates will effectively communicate across the company.

The Senior Financial Analyst performs finance related support functions essential to the organization's ability to nurture, execute, monitor, and control financial activity and related process and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develops and reports on the business' key performance indicators (KPIs) using various tools including PowerBI dashboards. The position is responsible for preparing and issuing the monthly financial reports of topic areas including operating profit, margin and overhead analysis.
  • On a monthly basis works with the Director of Planning, Analysis and Reporting to prepare actual to forecast and current year to prior year analyses, including explanation of variances.
  • Creates financial models and analysis that can be easily understood and utilized by senior financial staff and leadership team members. Projects include financial models evaluating the payback period and IRR for new products.
  • Supports the preparation of the Annual Budget as well as periodic forecast updates.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses as needed in support of the financial department, general management, other functional departments and Spectris PLC.
  • As needed, works with other finance team members to complete the monthly financial close activities.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study. MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of accounting, analysis, and business experience.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to think critically and pay attention to detail and accuracy. Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize while multi-tasking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, analytical, and anticipatory skills to effectively interface with all levels of management and staff, customers and outside business contacts.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Excel, Access, SQL and other Microsoft software products; willingness to learn new tools. Experience with Microsoft PowerBI would be a plus.
  • Demonstrated strong self-initiative and self-motivation, curiosity and creativity in identifying and implementing solutions to complex issues, and a devotion to detail and follow-up as required.
  • Ability to work and function independently in a team environment with a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal communication.
