Alliant Energy has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Gas Trader to join our team in Madison, WI. In this role you will be responsible for the supply of natural gas to our retail gas customers and gas-fired power generation facilities. This includes managing a mid to long-term portfolio of physical, financial and options contracts; interstate pipeline capacity agreements; balancing services; and contracted storage capacity. You will be responsible for executing Alliant Energy's Risk Management Programs, including reporting on and complying with risk limits and our company's policies and procedures.

This position offers a blend of working from home, and in the Madison, WI office on average 2 days per week.

The successful candidate must reside in Wisconsin. Relocation assistance is available!

Job Qualifications
Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree with an Emphasis in economics, accounting, business administration, engineering, or related area
• 5 years of experience in energy trading, scheduling, risk management, engineering forecasting, or equivalent analytical or financial experience
  

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

• Demonstrated understanding of public utility economics, operations and market economics and finance concepts preferred.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and carry out responsibilities and make decisions with little to no direction.
• Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
• Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
