Job Description
The Select Groups client is looking for an IBM WebSphere Developer to come join their team for a long term contract role. IBM WebSphere Developer Requirements:

  • At least 5 year's experience in ODM (Rule Studio, Decision Server and Decision Center) and WebSphere Application Server
  • At least 5 years experience in Java/J2EE development, REST/SOAP Web Services
  • Hands on experience in business rules discovery, rules harvesting and rule development in ODM
  • At least 3 years of experience developing, deploying, and supporting Python applications in a production environment
  • Hands on experience in ODM API's, Web services and other J2EE development and integrations
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems
  • Hands-on experience building, deploying and/or supporting distributed applications built with EAI and SOA technologies (ex. J2EE on WebSphere, JMS, EAI, MQ, EJB, JSP, JDBC, SQL, Ant)
  • Strong Knowledge of XML and related technologies
  • Working knowledge with Oracle RDBMS and J2EE based Oracle interaction
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to details
  • Strong project management skills
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related fields
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
  • Software development experience in financial services or real estate related industries a plus.
  • J2EE, WebSphere and/or IBM ODM Certifications
  • AWS Solution Architect - Associate Certification
IBM WebSphere Developer Responsibilities:
  • Analyze business processes and procedures and document requirements through written specifications
  • Ensure delivered code is developed up to established IT standards
  • Perform user interviews and other data gathering
  • Suggest creative options for business solution and educate users on capabilities and use of current technology
  • Prepare feasibility studies, time, and cost estimates as required
  • Schedule projects and evaluate their cost, architecture and impact on the organization
  • Design needed programs based on the business requirements
  • Utilize relational design principles when appropriate
  • Design and test system prototypes, review and present proposed system solutions for approval
  • Design application security specifications
  • Helps configure and administer multiple Rules development and execution environments
  • Assists with rules packaging and deployment, including creation of rules deployment automation and/or procedures
  • Develops documents and other development artifacts as needed to support the project and/or organization's development process
  • Leads efforts to ensure that the business requirements of a software development project are understood and met
  • Mentors and supports other team members
  • Communicates effectively, works collaboratively and cooperatively with others
  • Lead planning, installation, configuration, and implementation of WebSphere ODM applications
