Job Description

About the role:

A GDAAS Software Developer is responsible and accountable for the quality and coding of software components that make up complex systems serving GM's customers, GDAAS partners, and internal IT teams.

This is unique opportunity in our GDAAS (Global Data, AI and Analytics Services) team will challenge you to create powerful and significant software products in a big-data ecosystem. This application generates millions of dollars per year for GM by optimizing the content we put in our vehicles via a sophisticated modeling process.

There are two positions available: One mid-level software developer and one senior software developer.

This role requires experience in software development, data structures and databases. Software Developers will work independently and under the direction of senior IT architects, development leads and will lead teams while assisting on multi-layered solution architectures that comprehend and specify business, application, data and infrastructure designs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or related experience

• At least 3-8 years developing cutting-edge applications

• Demonstrated knowledge of database modeling and data structure principles, techniques and best practices.

• Demonstrated knowledge in software ReactJS or AngularJS

• Demonstrated knowledge in software java programming (Java, Javascript, HTML5, CSS, JSON)

• Demonstrated experience in developing APIs and interface contracts is necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline

• Experience with Spark, Hadoop, and Elasticsearch

• Experience with Microservice Architecture, Applications, and Design

• Demonstrated knowledge in multiple software development disciplines (i.e. Agile, Scrum, SDLC)
