Restaurant Supply Chain Solutions, LLC, a Yum! Brands Co-op, is currently seeking a Senior Manager, Packaging Procurement, to join the Packaging Procurement team in Louisville, KY.

Position Overview:

This position is accountable for providing category leadership to drive breakthrough results in innovation, quality, service, risk reduction and cost across resin-based packaging, personal protective equipment (PPE) and various back of house items for all YUM! Brands concepts: Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, and Habit Burger Grill, and for A&W. This will require developing a vision for the category and influencing suppliers around capability/technology investment, capacity investment, cost management, and advancing sustainability solutions.

Essential Functions:

  • Category Management & Leadership
    • Deliver breakthrough results through the development of effective sourcing strategies and execution of the sourcing process.
    • Ensure sourcing plans align Brands with suppliers that meet and/or exceed quality, supply, innovation and cost requirements. Protect the business through timely, well-structured Agreements.
    • Accountable for capacity analysis and proactively managing supply for short and long-term business continuity.
    • Responsible for development, execution and reporting of cost savings projects to support targets and improve member margins.
    • Accountable for the development of item level cost forecasts, delivery of cost commitments, and reporting.
    • Subject Matter Expert for category and all associated aspects (manufacturing processes, feedstock markets, adjacent industry segments, sustainability)
  • Collaboration
    • Develop deep knowledge of each brand and how the category fits the respective business. Develop strategic relationships with key Brand contacts establishing accountability for the category. Influence Brand packaging related strategies to improve results (cost/efficiency, supply assurance, innovation, and consumer satisfaction).
    • Collaborate with the Commodity Risk Management team to develop, implement, and improve the strategies for the category and reduce feedstock price volatility.
    • Collaborate with suppliers and Brand to drive breakthrough innovation, packaging & supply optimization, and advance sustainability.
    • Work closely with Operations and distribution partners to promptly address supply concerns by expediting product, modifying supplier allocations, and/or introducing solutions to mitigate system supply impact.
  • Initiative Execution
    • Drive successful innovation and supply chain initiatives to support the Brand Marketing Calendar and other key business objectives.
    • Lead and develop subject matter expertise (SME) on the Brand's Sustainability initiatives and the industry innovations and commercial capabilities.
    • Develop expertise regarding Brand and Yum! sustainability objectives and proactively work across industry resources and manufacturers to meet them.
    • Work across Procurement and broader RSCS resources to drive continuous improvement in processes and tools.
  • Supplier Relationship Management
    • Develop the appropriate level of supplier relationships (dependent on category and business needs) and transform the supplier support models to drive meaningful improvement and results.
    • Build alignment to supplier strategies and deliverables across stakeholders to maximize impact and results.
  • Requires travel - 15% to 25%

Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on data analytics, business, or economics. Prefer Masters or MBA
  • Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience. Prefer 5+ years of progressive experience in sourcing strategy development and packaging procurement.
  • Negotiation, analytical, strategy development and execution, relationship management, forecasting, communication, self-motivation, and supply chain.
  • Prefer Packaging industry knowledge, distribution, and logistics.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of the supply chain processes including manufacturing, logistics and distribution.
  • Ability to garner trust and respect of all constituents, while managing tight timelines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
