Overview

The incumbent is responsible for managing the strategic interface with Champion Sales, Merchant and Planning teams as well as key accounts for the Champion North American business. Responsible for strategizing, directing, developing and managing the retail planning process with a primary focus on driving top line sales, retail assortment optimization, planning, market share and profitability. Responsible for managing direct reports that manage the day-to-day tactics and operations of retail and assortment planning for key Champion partners. Champion, HbI's 2nd largest brand, represents substantial current and future growth opportunity for Hanesbrands, Inc.

Responsibilities

A. Effectively interface with Champion Sales, Customer and Supply Chain personnel at multiple levels to grow sales volume and market share for Champion Activewear.

  • Serve as a primary interface for internal sales, merchant and planning teams
  • Serve as a primary interface for key customer planning and inventory teams.
  • Exhibit in-depth understanding of Champion's infrastructure including sales operations, reporting, demand planning and down-system implications.
  • Manage and execute consistent business planning processes within Champion, with focus on strategic business development including:
    • Joint Business Plan development, presentation, and execution
    • Category direction based on financial results, contingency strategy development, and sales & receipt collaboration
    • Champion forecast, demand optimization and opportunity
  • Manage and provide business insights for short and long-range planning.
B. Participate and contribute to the HbI cross-functional team on Champion in a broad business manner in addition to specific functional role
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing and customer operations by providing data-driven perspectives of current and historical financial results, and how those perspectives apply to future business developments
  • Develop and execute annual financial plans and monthly forecasts
  • Collaborate with production planning and operations teams on the development of contingency strategies
  • End-to-end business process review, refinement, optimization, and execution
C. Effectively manage and develop 2 direct reports through coaching, challenging and motivating to optimize employee productivity
  • Team responsible for:
    • Execution of day-to-day tactics crucial to business success
    • Key interface with Champion planning and sales teams
    • Key interface with internal sourcing and operations teams
    • Developing key customer replenishment programs and volumes
    • Effective communication and timeliness of key business information
    • Analysis of sales data to identify opportunities and issues
    • Contingency planning/execution and VTA management

Qualifications
  • 4-year college degree (BA, BS)
  • 7-10 years of job related experience, holding leadership positions, in Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, Buying, Assortment Planning, Retail and Inventory Management.
  • Customer experience preferred
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills required
