Location: any Gibbs and Cox office, will consider fully remote

As a member of an interdisciplinary team, you will provide technical knowledge and detailed designs for complex main and auxiliary systems. Essential responsibilities include:

  • Performing calculations, applying mechanical engineering principles, techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Performing quality assurance reviews of simple analyses, calculations, and drawings.
  • Developing test procedures to ensure equipment and system performance.
  • Performing engineering and sizing of auxiliary machinery piping systems for early ship concept design phases.
Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
  • B.S. Degree or higher in Marine or Mechanical Engineering or a Related Field.
  • Professional Engineering Certification in Mechanical, Marine or an applicable discipline is highly desired.
  • 10 Plus (+) Years of Experience and Demonstrated Knowledge of:
    • Shipyard Production
    • Systems:
      • Main, Auxiliary, Propulsion, Fuel, Lubrication
      • Piping, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning
      • Seawater and Fresh Water
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in standard mechanical system design and analysis.
  • Proficiency in standard software e.g.: CAD, AutoCAD, and Rhino. Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Outstanding Oral, Written and Presentation Skills.
