Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Life Sciences

GBA, a professional, full service architectural and engineering firm is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a mechanical engineering position for the Life Sciences group in our Cary, North Carolina office. This group specializes in the work in the Pharma/Bio-Pharma industry and serves many of the top companies as an integrated team of architects, engineers, commissioning specialists, and builders. Job Description:

GBA is offering a long-term career opportunity for a senior mechanical engineer with 8+ years of experiences. This individual uses his/her extensive experience in the design of buildings of various degrees of complexity to design and bring technical knowledge to all phases of the design and construction. This position coordinates with local as well as national team members to develop project solutions that meet our client's needs.

Responsibilities:

• Work with market segment leaders, architects, process experts and various engineering disciplines to create building solutions that respond to our clients desired spatial, functional and budgetary needs.
• Perform design calculations, equipment selections, or check (review) calculations and equipment selections performed by project team members.
• Evaluate and assess existing systems
• Work directly with client to establish design criteria. Develop design concepts given client's goals and budgetary expectations
• Write project specifications when needed
• Perform energy payback analysis
• Design overall system, assuring project compliance with code and standards
• Maintain project quality assurance, coordination with other trades
• Perform field reviews, investigations and process submittals during construction phase

Requirements:

• BS in Engineering
• Professional licensed engineer
• 8+ years or experience
• Strong technical knowledge and application
• Organizational skills with an attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Interest working in a collaborative team environment
