SENIOR OPERATIONS MANAGER

YOUR ROLE

TheSenior Operations Manager Outboundhas a comprehensive knowledge of the Distribution functions and effectively interacts with and supports the Outbound, Inbound, Inventory, Transport, Sales/Customer Service (IMTS & IMM) and IMI, functions within the business. The position optimizes the operations and warehousing functions to ensure business profitability. Continually seeks to improve the operations model and actively recommends and implements improvements to ensure efficient utilization of resources, cost efficiency, quality standards, customer service and long-term growth of the business.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Service and Quality-20%
    Reviews and evaluates statistic including 3rdParty Warehousing and areas to ensure that all functions are meeting key service and quality metrics. The Sr. Operations Managers, present current and future needs per data research in conjunction with key stakeholders within the organization to plan appropriately in terms of resourcing and capital requirements thought the utilization of industry benchmarked practices and techniques. To best fit the business needs you also develop and review work instructions. Take corrective action to eliminate behind schedule conditions and ensure customer service expectations are met.
  • Budget- 15%
    Preparation of budgets, reports and forecasts for warehouse and distribution activities. Presents daily KPI report detailing cost and adherence to budgets. For forward planning of future projects, you prepare in terms of output quality and quantity, cost, time availability and requirements for labor and capital expenditure.
  • Process Improvement- 15%
    By working closely with the Sr. Management team within the ALC you help identify, conceptualize and implement process improvements through the analysis of daily KPI reporting within the Outbound operation which will lead to demonstrable and quantifiable improvements in productivity and efficiency. Also engages with key stokeholds within the organization around creating effective scheduling of various operations and 3rdparty warehousing to ensure resourcing and operational cost are kept at an acceptable level.
  • Heath, Safety, Security and Environment- 10%
    Plans, examines, analyses and evaluates ALC operations in respect to Safety Standards. Implements and evaluates safe work practices and procedure. Identifies hazards and reports hazards, conducts safety audits, conducts incident and accident investigation and takes corrective action. Ensure all team members contribute to safety of the ALC Operations. Works in conjunction with associates and Management personnel to ensure compliance with TAPA certifications. Highlights any potential breaches of these protocols and takes pro-active steps to address these issues.
  • Project Management- 10%
    Working closely with various parts of the business and the Inventory and Quality Manager around the planning and implementation of key supplier projects within the ALC such as Product Launches, new customer /vendor onboarding and seasonal spikes in outbound. Proactively planning for such occurrences to ensure that customer SLA are met.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Essential Skills, Experience & Requirements:
  • Minimum 7-9 years of managerial and leader experience in adistribution center environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain/Logistics/Management at a minimum of Certification 4 although ideally at Bachelors Level.
  • Significant experience of warehousing operations; budgeting; personnel management; and administrative techniques
  • Prior experience working within a 5S or Lean environment.
  • Establishing role as subject matter expert with high credibility. Creative mental agility to solve problems and implement cost effective solutions. Keen sense of customer needs and can anticipate requirements. Ability to work effectively with a complex business and organizational environment.
  • Characteristics must include superior interpersonal skills, communication and collaboration skills, change management and implementation skills, creativity and vision. Demonstrated by ability to act as a catalyst for positive change, teamwork and client/customer service.
  • Strong numeracy skills in the areas of financial reporting and productivity /KPI measures.
  • Ability to continuously identify problems, assess risks and review each business areas of the corporation and implement appropriate safeguards. Must be process management minded with a clear understanding for the use of metrics and measurements.
  • WMS experienced
  • Not required but prior automation experience is a plus
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and crouch.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 (fifty) pounds.
  • Ability to adapt, alter focus and adjust to the ever-changing warehouse environment.
