POSITION PROFILE

The Senior Print Quality Lab Operator will be responsible for measuring print quality and in a development and test lab environment. They will also be responsible for maintaining PQ lab equipment and ensuring data collected is accurate. Works under the general guidance of Development and Quality Development Engineers, and decisions are aided by tools and processes. Creates and maintains procedures and improves operational efficiency.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be familiar with operation of high-speed, digital printers using ink-jet and electro-photographic technology and associated pre and post processing equipment.
  • Operate PQ lab equipment to produce measurement data for engineering analysis. Measure print samples and record resulting data with precision and accuracy.
  • Use knowledge of PQ measurements to create more efficient and effective testing processes and procedures.
  • Operate paper testing equipment as needed.
  • Assist lab technicians and engineers with lab configurations, equipment moves, and other work as needed.
  • Assist lab technicians in performing complex setup and maintenance of equipment
  • Plan work with input from engineers, prioritize work and schedule overtime to meet business needs, as approved by management
  • Seeks out opportunities to improve processes and address operational problems.
  • Make repairs to equipment or arrange to have repairs made when necessary.
  • Train other operators in equipment and lab operations and procedures as needed
  • Assist Development and QDE Engineers in test environment setup and execution
  • Exhibit high quality standards by producing repeatable and reliable results
  • Understands the function, operating principles, and adjustment of tools and equipment utilized in assignments. Recognizes proper and improper operation of equipment and takes corrective actions
  • Responsible for results of assistance provided to other personnel. Recognizes errors in a wide variety of work and assures corrective action is taken.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

  • Has knowledge of Printing Systems technology, print quality, and color measurements. Is able to independently operate print quality measurement systems in accordance with procedure.
  • Technical Associates Degree or Certificate, or equivalent experience in operation of measurement equipment.
