RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Reliability (Electrical) Engineer in Carlsbad, CA.Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs failure analysis in determination of root cause of failures
  • Develops reliability and maintainability predictions using approved prediction methodologies for electrical/electronic packages, PCBA's, cabling, and systems
  • Performs Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), at the schematic (piece-part) and interface level
  • Develops and conducts DOE's as well as HALT and HASS tests for verification of design predictions and failure analysis
  • Supports design reviews as required and presenting reliability results to management and engineering team
  • Reviews product complaint weekly for applicability to product reliability
  • Provides electronics piece-part reliability support, including associated drawing reviews, material review boards, and failure analysis
  • Supports failure investigation teams and develops reliability / probabilistic assessments based on root cause of observations, anomalies, and failures
  • Performing system level severity / likelihood assessments for product performance trends and failures
  • Creates presentations of findings and reports to management and cross-functional teams
  • Works independently. Contributions impact the overall team's objectives
  • Influences overall project goals; Is a collaborative team player and demonstrates open-mindedness and flexibility
  • Creates innovative and creative solutions to keep projects on-track
  • Maintains a high degree of quality in all work performed
  • By way of example, sets a precedent for being a positive team member. In some instances may be responsible for a functional area or contracted / outsourced employees or matrixed reports, but does not have any direct reports within the organization
  • Responsible for compliance with quality system procedures and all regulatory requirements


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of related experience and a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in a scientific/engineering discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrates in depth working experience and application of reliability principles, practices, and determination of root cause of failures
  • Ability to perform electrical circuit analysis using schematics to perform failure mode and effects analysis
  • Demonstrates ability to solve complex problems with strict attention to detail; effective analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to perform detail-oriented work with high accuracy within determined timelines
  • Ability to evaluate system level impacts from component level data
  • Experience and expert level proficiency in Design for Reliability and Manufacturing/Design for Six Sigma highly desired
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis techniques
  • Experience with state-of-the-art electronics tools such as schematic capture (Altium, Orcad), simulation (Spice, Comsol) as well as system / software tools (MatLab), and reliability tools.
  • Working within a medical device industry is highly desired
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, technical skills, and ability to troubleshoot systems efficiently
