The Senior Staff Accountant (SSA) reports to the Senior Accounting Manager. The SSA is actively involved in the review of the Company’s inventory management system requiring daily interaction with operations personnel. The SSA plays an important role in the monthly book to physical inventory reviews. The SSA prepares specific accounting records, provides account analysis and assists with the review of inventory costing. Preparation of month-end close journal entries and analysis of financial results also falls within the duties of the SSA. The SSA works with the Senior Accounting Manager to ensure that the close process is on track and implements changes as necessary to improve the close cycle process. Other responsibilities of the SSA include the accurate completion of journal entries; account analysis and other duties which require the understanding of financial statements. In addition, the SSA may be involved in ad hoc projects. The SSA is involved in the month end closing, general ledger account reconciliations, internal and external audit support, tasks associated with managing the close cycle and continuous improvement of the accounting environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, relevant experience or a combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Experience including responsibility for company cost accounting, general accounting and financial statements preferred.
  • Must have strong customer service, interpersonal/verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel software, ERP systems (preferably ORACLE) and 10-key competency.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and time management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain quality relationships and support all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and changing priorities
  • Willingness to challenge conventional thinking for the betterment of the company
