GHD has an immediate opportunity available for a Senior Strategic Urban Planner.

The Senior Strategic Urban Planner will support regional leaders in building this service capability across North America. Their role is to take a strategic approach to project work, building connections between technical disciplines such as urban design, transport planning, urban economics and infrastructure development. This position will provide and deliver technical input into project work, strategic pursuits, and proposals. This position can be based in most US office locations. GHD supports a hybrid work model.

In this diverse role you will:

• Actively champion GHD's Future Communities strategy and value propositions into multi-disciplinary projects, working closely with Project Managers and Technical Leads as appropriate.
• Be a key contributor to the implementation of GHD's value propositions into major strategic pursuits and proposals.
• Develop and maintain contemporary technical approaches and solutions to support the pursuit and delivery of projects.
• Support senior members of the team in growing the capability of our technical people to deliver with clients.
• Task-manage and support senior members of the team in concert with Project Managers, Project Directors, Design Leads and Team Members as required.
• Support senior leadership to achieve growth targets.
• Lead small to medium projects as a Project Manager, developing proposals and maintaining client relationships to drive business growth and repeat work opportunities.
• Provide guidance, allocate tasks, and supervise project-based teams while actively communicating progress and raising potential issues.
• Coach to assist in the development of graduate / interns relating to GHD's Future Communities strategy and value propositions.

What will you bring to the team?

• Minimum of 5-10 years' experience within the field of urban planning, urban design and land development.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Urban Planning, Human Geography, Social Science, Urban Design or similar qualifications.
• Knowledge and experience working within the North American planning context including the preparation of strategic planning documents and development of technical reports.
• Excellent technical and non-technical written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prepare high quality reports, proposals and marketing information.
• Experience working in the consulting industry and in multi-disciplinary team environments.
• Ability to present to a wide range of audiences.
• Experience in small workshop and meeting facilitation.

The salary range for this position ranges from $103-$154K depending on experience and location.
