Job Summary

This role will require a thorough understanding of Enterprise Exchange administration and be capable of continued management oversight following a successful Exchange Online migration. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage Active Directory, Azure, VMware virtualization and other infrastructure components to maintain a highly available messaging system.

The Senior Systems Engineer should be self-motivated and able to recognize areas within their overall scope of responsibilities that need additional focus. Attention to detail, as well as the ability to shift between a variety of tasks throughout the workday will be necessary. This role will cross-train in other areas of the Systems Engineering team to provide overlapping coverage for other engineers, including Load Balancers, Certificate Management, Data Protection, and any other relevant emerging technologies adopted by the firm.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Daily operational tasks include checking performance dashboards, job logs, reviewing service tickets, and planning for upcoming changes
  • Test, validate, and perform upgrades to latest versions of all systems applications to ensure ongoing security and supportability
  • Ability to work within specific deadlines and still deliver high quality work product
  • Escalate system issues to timely notify leadership so communications can be sent
  • Work alongside other departments to achieve firm projects and goals
  • Diagnose hardware failures and work with the relevant support organizations


Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Associates degree or 7 years equivalent working experience within the IT Systems industry
  • Ability to handle multiple jobs (and wear multiple hats) at the same time
  • In-depth knowledge of infrastructure systems
  • 3+ years of experience in a multi-office enterprise (multi-national preferred)
  • High level of written and verbal proficiency, including familiarity with various technical terminology and industry acronyms
  • Experience with automation and PowerShell is a plus
  • Experience leveraging Disaster recovery platforms to provide data resiliency
  • Microsoft Azure and Exchange Online experience is strongly desired
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and flexible with good time management skills
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
  • Ability to think clearly while effectively handling stress, pressures, and challenges
  • Provide world-class customer service when interacting with all areas of the business and its clientele
  • Functional knowledge of IP and data communication fundamentals
  • Problem solving/troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to work well in a project team environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Willing to take on all other duties as assigned


This position requires the ability to lift up to fifty pounds and to install equipment at any position in standard 7-foot EIA Relay Rack or NetApp cabinet. Occasional but infrequent travel may be required.
