SUMMARY

Establishes approved and certified sources of supply and coordinates the purchasing and distribution of raw materials, components, machinery and supplies required in R&D and manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Searches for and coordinates the approval of sources of supply for raw materials, components, equipment machinery and supplies.
2. Negotiates prices for all purchased items based on target pricing strategies.
3. Negotiates vendor managed inventory programs with key suppliers.
4. Works closely with engineering to determine sources for and items needed to support R&D projects.
5. Establishes short and long-term purchase price variance (PPV) and lead-time improvement plans.
6. Prepares, coordinates and expedites purchase orders and change notices.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
