Senior Traffic Engineer for Pennoni Associates, Inc. in Columbia, MD. Lead complex traffic engineering tasks with other staff on highway and bridge projects. Lead and develop traffic studies and highway occupancy permits. Perform design of lighting, traffic signals, signal systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), signing and pavement markings, and ADA curb ramps. Develop maintenance of Traffic Schemes, Construction Phasing, and Traffic Control Plans. Develop Transportation Management Plans (TMP) and Traffic Impact Studies (TIS). Develop project cost estimates and specifications. Provide technical guidance to engineers and technical staff. Requirements are Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Transportation Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field, plus eight years post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a traffic and transportation engineering position performing traffic impact studies, master planning studies, roundabout analysis, 2D and 3D simulation modeling, pedestrian and bike planning, urban intersection design, and traffic signal system design, plus working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, Synchro 9, Excel and Highway Capacity Software. Must have a State of Maryland Professional Engineer License. Must travel as needed on a short-term basis to various project sites located in Maryland, Delaware, Washington, D.C. or Virginia for the purpose of testing and data analysis.
