Envision developing Consumer & Marketplace Insights for a Fortune 200 Company with some of the most iconic brands! Have a bachelors degree with experience in the consumer Industry? Have an interest or experience with consumer research methods? If so, we want to speak with you!


We are currently looking for a Sensory Product Researcher in Strategy, Consumer & Marketplace Insights to join us in Richmond, VA.


The selected candidate will play a key role in designing and executing sensory product research studies with the purpose of producing measurable consumer insights to support product development and business strategies.


What you will be doing:
Lead sensory product research studies to produce relevant consumer-centric insights that drive business performance.
Train and maintain sensory panel performance.
Establish cross-functional partnerships with product development and brand management teams to clearly define research objectives and deliverables.
Develop and conduct product research by translating internal research requirements into a research protocol, inclusive of supplier and methodology selection, developing other field materials (e.g., discussion guide/survey development and supplier deliverables) and managing fieldwork through using supplier partnerships.
Prepare and deliver learning/insight, clearly explaining scientific research and its results.
Prioritize projects in a rapidly changing environment.


We want you to have:
Bachelors degree in a related field such as food science, marketing, analytics, psychology or sociology. An advanced degree is desired.
1 -2 years in consumer product research (preferably in a Consumer Product Goods company). Innovation experience is a bonus.
Strong understanding of consumer research, including survey design, methodology strengths and limitations, and how to best address business questions.
A deep knowledge of one of the following technical areas: statistics, sensory testing methods, experimental psychology, quantitative consumer research methods.
Experience on supplier side or management of suppliers a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
High level of proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Excel & PowerPoint.
