This position's main functions are to provide in-depth technical support and training to the shipping department. Insure the product is shipped efficiently and accurately to insure that products are delivered on time and in a manner requested by our customers. Leads the associates on shift and ensures quality, efficiency and accuracy standards are being met.

Position starts at $22.00 per hour, offers PAID breaks and lunches and is eligible for increases based on efficiency! PLUS a $750 sign-on-bonus is available!

Responsibilities

  • Leads quality and quantity of work processed by each associate and bears responsibility for reporting the training and performance of shift personnel.
  • Ensures proper operation of department equipment; requests maintenance assistance when necessary
  • Distributes goals for key measurements and communicates to all associates on shift and creates associate success through training and coaching and develops a fair, challenging and pleasant working environment
  • Provides leadership as well as assisting with regular informational meetings to the employees and helps develop associates for further responsibilities
  • Communication to customer service on orders that will not hit their ship date, due to a shipping related issue
  • Research order that need to ship or are past ship date
  • Ensure all OPU / CPU orders are being called on daily
  • Running / working reports daily to resolve problem orders
  • Make sure all AAFES, Navy Exchange and Marine Corps are being worked / shipped daily and that dates are not being missed
  • Walk LTL area to make sure orders are moving
  • Ensure priority mail and orders needing invoices are being sent out daily and not behind on dates
  • Maintain a working knowledge of packaging and shipping departments and search for modern and improved methods of operations
  • Contingency planning and creation of flexible systems. Duties include documentation and tracking of multiple systems
  • Keep daily relations with Oracle and shipping system training, administration, and support person, with computer issues
  • Print daily reports and manifest
  • Monitor departmental supplies and order supplies in Oracle as needed
  • Must document and develop training and development activities
  • Must be able to determine most dependable and least expensive carrier for customer who asked for "Best Way" transportation
  • Work with supervisors and leads up stream to prepare for hot shipments that may need expediting
  • Oversee the combining of smaller pallets to keep the total size of Pack and Hold area to a minimum

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required: One to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Able to read and interpret written information
  • Basic computer skills including proficiency with Word and Excel
