Mission:

This position is a combined Progress Leader and Progress Adviser position (Industrial Engineering Manager and Michelin Manufacturing Way process). The Progress Leader in Asheboro is responsible for facilitating the sites Progress initiatives aligned with the strategic ambitions. This position also represents the Progress Direction in the entity, promotes an environment of "Lean Thinking", expresses resource needs (training /assistance) , and identifies opportunities for improvement

Responsibilities:

  • Act as an interface between Site and the Progress network and, in particular, the Progress Direction.
  • Monitor the performance of the progress portfolio and its contribution to the entity's strategy.
  • Promote and deploy Progress referentials, standards and tools targeting customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and collect requirements for potential changes relating to Progress best practices and tools through the Progress network, coaching actions and external state of the art.
  • Encourage decision making
  • Help to structure a vision and its roadmap
  • Apply the DMAIC/DMADV approach (Green Belt process)
  • Shall Guarantee and drive forward the development and deployment of the tools and methods to ensure the progress approach
  • Develop the autonomy, professionalism and competencies of employees in terms of Progress.
  • Maintain accurate work standards and measurement (time studies and frequency checks) and apply in the staffing model.
  • Ensure that both short and long term site operational budgets reflect progress.
  • Fulfill role on plant staff/direction team.
Requirements
  • BS in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical major
  • Minimum of three to five years of industrial or manufacturing related engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience: military (Junior Military Officer (JMO)), a plus
  • Project Management experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to set and achieve goals with minimum supervision. Demonstrated solid teamwork, interpersonal and planning skills
  • Experience managing a team
