The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for helping grow our digital presence across multiple platforms including, but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Flipboard, and Twitter. This role will assist in the planning and execution of social media strategies that will take on a variety of forms. You will also manage OnlyInYourState Facebook Groups by way of interfacing with community and contractor moderators.

Ideally, you are proactive self-starter with a keen eye for details, endless sparks of creativity and a passion for learning more about social media marketing and digital new media. You have a basic understanding of the online content ecosystem and a strong background in social media marketing. You are also proficient with design programs (Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or similar) and able to create basic assets for social media campaigns.

You'll Report To: Sr. Editor, Social Media

A typical day as a Social Media Coordinator might include:

    • Assist in scheduling or publishing posts on various social media platforms.
    • Gathering analytics data for the various OnlyInYourState profiles and pages.
    • Assist in analyzing the performance data and creating strategies to hit outlined KPIs.
    • Creating design assets to be used on various social media platforms as posts, stories, pins, storyboards, and more.
    • Assist in the creation and maintenance of a social media calendar that aligns with the overarching brand editorial calendar.
    • Monitoring and moderating social media profiles.
    • Perform other creative tasks and projects as necessary to support social media objectives.
    • Assist Sr. Editor as needed with our social media strategy.

What you have:
    • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Marketing, English, communications or related field or equivalent related experience.
    • A minimum of 1-2 years of recent social media experience.
    • Excellent copy editing skills and proficient in AP Style. Has experience using skills to create exceptional content for social media.
    • Familiarity with basic social media marketing concepts for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter.
    • Knowledge of online metrics and statistics reporting tools such as Google Analytics.
    • Experience with design programs (Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or similar).
    • Strong collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills.
    • A willingness to learn and share your knowledge with the team.
