Job Summary

The Software Engineer – Cloud Applications role provides primary software development and administration of all cloud applications related to R&DT and Services Departments. Responsible for the maintenance, configurations, and support of the following applications but not limited to; Jira, Confluence, Slack, and ServiceNow platform

In addition, this role requires a subject matter expertise to resolved configuration administrative issues of AVISPL’s ServiceNow Instance (ensuring uptimes with cloud provider as well as managing any downtime windows, assisting managing ServiceNow releases to keep up to date, licensing and integration requests).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Contribute to continuous process improvements via automation, and emerging technologies
• Do what it takes to support operations in support of internal and external customers. This will include, but is not limited to troubleshooting issues, debugging and providing the right resolution.
• In collaboration with the Tech Writer ensure established documentation requirements and processes are followed in a timely manner.

• Maintaining and improving AVI-SPL’s existing applications and troubleshooting triggers, flows, workflows, validation rules and change sets, supporting installed app exchange applications
• Schedule, assist with deploy software releases.
• Assist with QA and any UAT RE applications
• Manage project application risks
• Manage SLA’s and communication to stakeholders
• Other duties assigned as needed
  

Skills and Abilities

• Experience with SaaS, Scripted Web Services, LDAP, SSO federation
• Strong working knowledge of ServiceNow IT Service Management components (e.g. Service Catalog, Change, Incident, Release, Problem, etc.)
• Working knowledge of testing methodologies and debugging
• Working knowledge of relational database management systems such as ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence
• Experience with Agile processes (Scrum, Kanban, etc…)
• Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities
• Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills
• Experience with importing and exporting data similar to ServiceNow and Jira utilities.
• ServiceNow and Jira Best practices such as governor limits.
• ServiceNow and Jira Security models and techniques
• Experience with customizing ServiceNow and Jira within the declarative platform
• Unit Testing, Code Coverage
• Working with Test Cases/Scripts and UAT
• SLDC and Software Testing Methodology
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Project

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Computer Engineering; or Associate Degree and equivalent work experience
• 3-5 years of hands-on ServiceNow administration and development experience
• ServiceNow System Administrator Certification required
• ServiceNow Application Developer Certification preferred
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist preferred
• ITIL Foundations Certification preferred
