Our Software Engineers design, develop, maintain, support, document, test, and/or debug new and existing software systems, applications, and/or technical infrastructure.

Required Experience: 0-4/+ years' design or development of software applications, systems, technology infrastructure, or related experience to include:

Knowledge of:

  • Relational databases: Sybase, MS SQL Server; SQL and database access interfaces (ODBC, JDBC, ADO, ADO.NET)
  • .NET programming
  • Reporting tools, such as SSRS
  • Software development lifecycle
  • Version control software
  • Network and software architecture (batch, client-server, web)
  • UML: system use cases, component, deployment, and dataflow diagrams
Skills:
  • Database development skills: reading, writing, and testing SQL to specifications, including creating objects such as stored procedures, tables, views; performance optimization utilizing keys, indexes, code structure
  • Software development using Visual Studio, MS .NET Framework, .NET (C# and/or VB.NET)
  • Reading and writing XML
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Required Education: must meet one of the following requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field of study or equivalent work experience (Two years' relevant work experience is equivalent to one year college)
  • International Degree equivalency
  • Applicable certification(s) +2 years additional experience
  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field of study + 2 years additional experience

Your day may look like:
  • Engineers, configures, monitors, manages, and troubleshoots software systems, applications, and/or technical infrastructure.
  • Researches, implements, monitors, manages, patch, and troubleshoot various systems, software, and/or technologies.
  • Monitors application performance by anticipating and correction operational issues before occurrence.
  • Develops tools and/or scripts to support and improve current software, systems, or technology build and release process and continuous integration and delivery initiatives. Automates software deployment processes and develops automation tools. Ensures the integrity of the builds and artifacts.
  • Creates test processes and procedures used to ensure that software operates within defined requirements.
  • Implements test plans, automation, and validation strategies.
  • Develops and maintains automated test scripts to reduce repetitive manual testing.
  • Participates in full development lifecycle including requirements analysis and design.
  • Writes technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
  • Supports, maintains, and documents software functionality.
  • Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs.
  • May review solution performance and continually assess health of software, systems, and/or technologies. Tracks and drives awareness to operational and technical risks.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
At more senior level(s), may also:
  • Identifies and evaluates new technologies for implementation
  • Provides technical guidance with cross-organizational input and in accordance with business unit objectives
  • Leads and supports solution lifecycle technical activities. Ensures solutions are designed for user experience and operational performance.
  • Drives technology release strategy, execution, and improvements across development lifecycle
  • Contributes to technical aspects of IT solution delivery, strategic planning, and operational excellence
