The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Dauten Family Center (DFC) has developed FITT-BD, a clinician and patient online platform for people with bipolar disorder. The same platform is used for the HAIL research study and the DCBI website.

The DFC is looking for a highly skilled and talented Software Engineer who will work as part of a DFC team to develop, maintain, and expand the network web portal.

First and foremost: develop software our users need

• Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues

• Create, modify, and test high-quality code

• Protect operations by keeping information confidential

• Take ownership of services and applications at scale

• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code

• Optimize applications for performance and scalability

Must have experience with React and its core principles

• Must have experience with NodeJS

• Must have experience with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, Foundation, JavaScript

• Must have experience with MySQL

• Must have experience with Git Version control

• Experience to maintain, debug, improve, upgrade and enhance the performance of existing software applications

• Ensure data integrity and security

• Experience working in a clinical research environment preferred

• Must be able to work as part of a team

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is required.

• 2-3 years total experience; 1 year experience in full-stack web development

• Experience using modern web technologies in ES6+, NodeJS, React, Redux

• Experience in web markup and server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, including HTML5, CSS3, and SASS.

• Experience in MySQL database

• Experience with Jira Agile development tools

• Experience in both research and clinical setting a plus.

• Independence and ability to make decisions.

Ability to take on complex problems, learn quickly, and persist towards a good solution

• Fluent with functional, imperative, and object-oriented languages

• Effective interpersonal/communications/organizational skills.

• Ability to provide support, direction, and development to staff.

Remote/Office conditions.
