What is Walmart InHome

Walmart InHome is working with the cutting edge of smart home technology to create a frictionless delivery experience for our customers. Working with our Brooklyn-based team, you'll move quickly to get features directly into customers hands. Walmart InHome has launched in three markets with plans to expand aggressively taking advantage of Walmart's massive customer base nation-wide.

The engineers on our team are forward thinking and collaborative in nature. We are looking for team members with strong skills in their fields and an ability to turn on a dime to support the fast-paced nature of our business.

What you'll do

• Develop scalable mobile applications together with our team of Android engineers
• Own end-to-end app features: networking, persistence, business logic, and UI
• Work closely with our iOS, backend, and hardware developers to build mobile infrastructure capable of interfacing with IoT devices
• Collaborate with product and operations to translate business requirements into code
• Employ continuous integration, testing, and automation, and deploy to production on a regular basis
• Grow your career and your skillset as you work on varied projects alongside experienced engineers

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience with Android application development
• BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field of study
• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Experience working with remote data via REST APIs
• Solid understanding of software architecture patterns, the Android platform, and mobile development lifecycle
• Ability to accomplish complex engineering tasks independently
• Experience with version control software (i.e., Git)
• Strong desire to perform and grow as an engineer
• Bonus points if you have experience with iOS development and/or GraphQL
